Mr. Sarkhan Sarkhanov, Deputy Director of State Agro Trade Company (SATC) and Mr. Rashad Karimov, Advisor to the Director, visited the Republic of Georgia. The main purpose of the visit is to explore opportunities for exporting agricultural products to Georgia and transit them to the European market, and to build new collaborations.
During the mission SATC officials met with Mr. Zaur Dargalli, Mayor of Marneuli, visited the canning factory and got acquainted with the production process.
During the meeting the prospects of packaging of Azerbaijani agricultural products produced in the processing factories operating in the densely populated Marneuli region of Georgia, and exporting them to Georgian and European markets, as well as joint cooperation between agricultural producers of two countries, and joint production, sale and export arrangements as a result of that cooperation, were discussed.
Noting that, the Agro Trade Company was established on 8 June 2018 under the subordination of the Ministry of Agriculture. The key areas of activity of the company is to support the sale of the products grown by small and medium farmers, to create new sales channels for them, as well as to contribute to the export of agricultural and local food products.
Currently, the State Agro Trade Company exports agricultural products to Ukraine, Russia, Georgia, Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates.
