The delegation led by the Minister got acquainted with the livestock and fishery farms of the Kyrgyz Republic

A delegation led by the Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov is on an official visit to the Kyrgyz Republic.

The Azerbaijani delegation led by the Minister first got acquainted with the activities of the “Altyn Arashan” small-horned livestock enterprise located in the village of Arashan, Chui region of the Kyrgyz Republic, and were interested in the conditions of keeping and feeding animals, and the quality of the veterinary service provided.

The owner of the farm informed the guests about the development of sheep farming, a traditional agricultural sector, using intensive methods, increasing the number of local sheep breeds, animals, and improving their breeding quality.

Then, the delegation visited another small-horned livestock enterprise located in the village of Maevka. The participants of the visit were informed about the work done at the enterprise, and exchanged views on the further improvement of the production process, the development of livestock and dairy farming, the importance of creating specialized meat and dairy cattle farms, the application of modern technologies in production, feed supply in livestock farming, and the importance of innovative feeding.

The Azerbaijani delegation also visited fishing farms operating in the Kyrgyz Republic and became interested in the work done in the private sector in the field of aquaculture. The guests were informed that fishing farms are mainly engaged in commercial trout farming. The meeting discussed the issues of establishing, equipping, operating and maintaining sanitary conditions in fisheries, formation of fish resources taking into account the impact on the environment, as well as the organization and regulation of fishing and aquaculture farms in accordance with modern requirements, mechanisms for supporting fisheries, and promoting the integration of fisheries and aquaculture into local and global value chains. The meeting participants shared their views on the development of fisheries and aquaculture, including increasing productivity.

It should be noted that Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov will participate in the IV Meeting of Ministers of Agriculture of the Organization of Turkic States and the IV Turkic States Agribusiness Forum in Kyrgyzstan. The Minister is expected to hold bilateral meetings within the framework of the events.
