Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov participated in a roundtable discussion held within the framework of the US Chamber of Commerce business mission to Azerbaijan
A roundtable discussion was held with the participation of Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov within the framework of the US Chamber of Commerce business mission to Azerbaijan. The roundtable discussed issues of cooperation in agriculture, a favorable business environment, investment opportunities in the agrarian sector, state support mechanisms, main directions of agriculture and other topics.
 
Minister Majnun Mammadov emphasized the strategic importance of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United States in the agrarian sector and said that thanks to the political will of the heads of state, relations between the two countries have risen to the level of strategic partnership. This creates broad opportunities for the development of cooperation in agriculture, as well as in various fields. The Minister, who provided the roundtable participants with extensive information on the dynamic development pace of agriculture, main development directions and priorities, state support mechanisms, implemented state programs, the level of digitalization in the agricultural sector, the application of artificial intelligence, said that there are prospects for cooperation in scientific research, agricultural education, plant breeding, animal husbandry, fisheries and aquaculture, the application of innovative technologies and other areas.
 
Representatives of US companies participating in the meeting emphasized the macroeconomic stability and favorable investment climate in Azerbaijan, and noted that excellent opportunities have been created for business and investment in our country. It was noted that the US intends to develop cooperation with Azerbaijan in the agricultural sector, as in all areas, and the discussions held show that there are broad opportunities for this cooperation.
 
During the discussions held at the roundtable, views were exchanged on the role of modern innovations in the development of the agricultural sector, technology transfer, expansion of the startup ecosystem, and prospects for the successful application of artificial intelligence, information was provided on ongoing projects, and questions of interest to US companies were answered.
 
It should be noted that the US Chamber of Commerce's business mission to Azerbaijan includes Jennifer Miel, the Chamber's Vice President for the Middle East, Central Asia and Türkiye, as well as executives from Apple, Ardea Energy Technologies Inc., Ericsson AB, ExxonMobil, Herbalife, Illumina, Meta, Visa, Wabtec, Baker Hughes, BP, Boeing Global, Honeywell, J.P. Morgan, Lummus Technology, Marriott, Mastercard, Shell International, Azerbaijan Coca-Cola Bottlers LLC and Motorola Solutions.
