Azerbaijani delegation gets acquainted with the activities of Israel's leading centers in the field of aquaculture and innovations
The Azerbaijani delegation, led by the Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov, got acquainted with the activities of the National Aquaculture Center and the “Sea-Novation” Innovation Center operating in Eilat during its visit to Israel.
First, the delegation visiting the National Aquaculture Center was given detailed information about the activities of the institution. It was noted that the Center was established as part of the Israeli government's strategy to transform the Eilat region into a specialized center for the production of marine and land products. One of the main goals of this Center, where the most modern biotechnologies are applied and demonstrated, is to create unique marine farms in the Red Sea region and develop aquaculture research. Here, seafood is produced using modern methods using the natural advantages of the Eilat Bay.
During the visit, a wide exchange of views was held between Azerbaijan and Israel on the application of biotechnologies in aquaculture and agriculture, specialist training, personnel exchange, and the implementation of joint scientific and research projects.
The delegation also visited the “Sea-Novation” Innovation Center operating in the Eilat region. Here, they were introduced to the implementation of innovative solutions in agriculture, startups supported within the framework of Acceleration Programs, and the mechanisms for the development of the startup ecosystem. It was noted that the Center, in addition to supporting research and initiatives in the field of biotechnology, aquaculture and marine sciences, creates conditions for the effective use of the scientific and technological potential of the Eilat region. During the presentations, the parties extensively discussed possible areas of cooperation in the application of innovations.
