The Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan Majnun Mammadov participated in the discussions held at the Ministerial Panel held in Eilat, Israel as part of the Sea the Future: II Blue Food Security Global Summit.

The summit concludes its work today. Speaking at the panel discussions held within the event on the topic of “Global Leadership in the Blue Food Security Process”, the Minister said that the long-term strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for the development of fisheries and aquaculture is aimed at protecting the aquaculture resources of the Caspian Sea and inland water bodies, as well as contributing to the country's food security through their sustainable development.

The Minister noted that in previous periods, Azerbaijan approached the development of aquaculture mainly from the perspective of environmental protection. Currently, in addition to maintaining this approach, increasing the economic potential of aquaculture has also become an important component of the strategy. Representatives of other countries who spoke at the panel discussions also noted that there is significant potential for conducting joint scientific research, organizing advanced training and training programs, and expanding trade relations and international cooperation with countries that have achieved significant achievements in the field of aquaculture.
