Cooperation issues in the agricultural sector between Azerbaijan and Estonia were discussed

Within the framework of the 44th session of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov met with Estonian Minister of Regional Affairs and Agriculture Hendrik Johannes Terras. The meeting widely discussed opportunities for cooperation in the agricultural sector.
During the meeting, Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov provided detailed information on the main directions of the agricultural development strategy in our country, state support for the agricultural sector, and innovative projects implemented. He said that Azerbaijan supports all initiatives aimed at strengthening economic and trade cooperation with Estonia.
Estonian Minister of Regional Affairs and Agriculture Hendrik Johannes Terras, in turn, said that Estonia is interested in developing partnership relations with Azerbaijan in all areas. He emphasized that there is great potential for expanding mutual relations in the agricultural sector.
The meeting discussed issues such as strengthening cooperation and the legal and contractual framework in the agricultural sector, renewing the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the agricultural sector between the two countries, establishing a joint Working Group on agriculture, exchanging information on products with high export potential, exporting fruit and vegetable products produced in Azerbaijan to Estonia, increasing trade turnover in agricultural and food products, expanding relations between businessmen, transferring modern technologies, exchanging experience in the field of animal husbandry (embryo transfer), and cooperation in scientific research and education in the agricultural sector.
The parties expressed their interest in further developing bilateral cooperation relations in the agricultural sector between the two countries in the future and increasing trade turnover in agricultural and food products.
Finally, a broad exchange of views was held on issues of mutual interest.
