Under the Ministry of Agriculture, Agro Procurement and Supply OJSC will participate in the “International Tea Village in Paris” (Village des thes) on September 27-29. The participation of the Agro Procurement and Supply OJSC in the event will be supported by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in France, the Association of Friends of Azerbaijan in France, as well as Paris Azerbaijan House.
The main purpose of the participation in the “Tea Village in Paris” festival is to promote Azerbaijani tea culture, local food products, including the Zagatala tea packed under the brand “From Village to City” and to establish new international connections. At the international festival in Saint Sulpice Square in Paris, along with the Zagatala River, other local types of tea will be presented, as well as local spices, various sweets and dried fruits. Degustation of Zagatala tea and other spicy tea and food products will be implemented at the festival as well.
As part of the festival, the APS delegation will hold various meetings to support the export of local products with high export potential. Farmer that is produced The Zagatala tea will also participate in the festival meetings together with the APS delegation. This is a good example of how the Company is friendly to small and medium farmers and local food producers. Thus, "Agro Procurement and Supply" OJSC, in addition to its main operations, also encourages local food producers to export their products and facilitate their access to foreign markets. So far, local farmers have exported products to the United Arab Emirates, Georgia, Ukraine, Russia and Nigeria with the support of the APS.
The opening ceremony of the "International Tea Village in Paris" will take place on September 27, 2019 with the participation of Mayor of the 6 arrondissement of Paris, Jean-Pierre Lecoq, and many political and public figures.
