Switzerland-Azerbaijan Business Forum was held in Zurich, Switzerland. Along with Azerbaijani and Swiss officials, entrepreneurs operating in energy, agriculture, construction, tourism, ICT, healthcare, food industry and other areas attended the event, which was organized under the title “South Caucasus markets is a door to CIS, Middle East and Europe”.

Ms. Khanim Ibrahimova, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Swiss Confederation, and Mr. Marcel Pavlicek, President of the Switzerland-Azerbaijan Joint Chamber of Commerce (JCC), representatives of the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and the European Defence Agency (EDA) made opening speeches at the forum.

Attending the business forum, Ms. Leyla Mammadova, Executive Director of State Agro Trade Company delivered a presentation on the “Agribusiness/Pursuing Opportunities in Azerbaijan’s Agricultural, Food Processing and Packaging Sectors”. Ms. Leyla Mammadova provided detailed information to the forum participants on the activity of her organization and the implemented projects. She has stated that the main trend of the activity of the State Agro Trade Company is to support the sale of products of local farmers and food producers in the domestic and overseas markets, and to contribute to the development of agriculture in our country.

“Today’s business forum is of great importance in terms of expanding ties between Azerbaijan and Switzerland and establishing new cooperation. There is a high level of bilateral relations between our countries and these relations are developing day by day. As the State Agro Trade Company, we also intend to contribute to the further development of relations between our countries. We believe that the Forum participants will also support to increase the export of organic products of Azerbaijan to Switzerland”, said Ms. Leyla Mammadova.

Mr. Yusif Abdullayev, Acting President at the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation, Mr. Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of Azerbaijan Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency under the Ministry of Economy, Mr. Nemat Nagdaliyev, Azerbaijan’s trade representative for Central Europe, Ms. Jamila Talibzade, Head of International Relations Department of the State Tourism Agency delivered presentations on various areas of economy of Azerbaijan.

Noting that, the Swiss-Azerbaijan Business Forum took place with the support of the Ministry of Economy, Embassy of Azerbaijan to the Swiss Confederation, and Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO).
