Cooperation issues in the agricultural sector between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan were discussed
On May 5, Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov met with a delegation led by the Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov, who participated in the 19th Azerbaijan International Agricultural Exhibition (Caspian Agro Week).
Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov recalled a productive meeting with his Uzbek counterpart in March this year within the framework of the Italy-Central Asia-Azerbaijan Forum in Tashkent. The Minister noted that Uzbekistan is implementing its own model based on the Azerbaijani agrarian insurance model. He noted that Azerbaijan is ready to share its achievements in digitalization, artificial intelligence, agrarian insurance and other areas of agriculture with the Uzbek side.
The meeting emphasized that Azerbaijan is interested in continuing the export of hazelnut seedlings to Uzbekistan and expanding cooperation in the field of viticulture. Extensive discussions were held on the importance of digitalization in agriculture, the application of innovative technologies and solutions, ensuring sustainable development of the agricultural sector, and the exchange of experience in these areas, and it was noted that there is great potential for expanding mutual relations in the agricultural sector.
Then, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Agrar Insurance Fund and the Agricultural Insurance Fund under the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan. The document was signed by the Chairman of the Board of the Agrar Insurance Fund Fuad Sadigov and the Director of the Agricultural Insurance Fund under the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan Muratjan Achilov. The purpose of the agreement is to apply Azerbaijan's experience in the field of agricultural insurance in Uzbekistan, including the development of the agricultural insurance system, effective risk management, improvement of insurance mechanisms, the introduction of innovative insurance products, as well as the expansion and strengthening of mutually beneficial cooperation through the digitalization of the sector.
