The delegation led by the Minister of Agriculture of Azerbaijan, Majnun Mammadov, visiting the Kingdom of the Netherlands, got acquainted with the activities of agricultural educational institutions, agricultural companies and leading farms of this country.
The Azerbaijani delegation first got acquainted with the material and technical base of the AERES agricultural school, which is a vocational educational institution specializing in various areas of agriculture in the Netherlands. The school has about 100 courses and training programs for bachelor's and master's degrees, professional education. In this educational institution, highly qualified personnel are trained in the agricultural field, which has become one of the priority areas of the country's economy. Participants of the course and training program here acquire the necessary professional skills, knowledge and skills in the field of horticulture, fruit growing and animal husbandry. At the meeting, ideas were exchanged on the organization of agricultural education, the possibilities of cooperation between AERES and educational institutions of Azerbaijan.
Later, the Azerbaijani delegation visited the Poultry Center of the Netherlands, watched the process of sorting poultry meat and eggs, discussed the directions of development of poultry farming in the country, and the possibilities of cooperation in this field with local experts.
The delegation also visited Wageningen University, which prepares highly qualified agricultural specialists and has a special ranking in the field of agriculture in the world, and was interested in the process of organizing education at the higher education institution. Saying that special attention is paid to the principles of healthy food and the environment, the university management gave detailed information to the guests about the teaching methodology, scientific research works, and held presentations on greenhouse gardening, plant breeding and seed growing technologies for the visiting participants at the higher educational institution. During the meeting, discussions were held on increasing the number of Azerbaijani students studying at Wageningen University, student-teacher exchange, and it was agreed to expand joint cooperation in this field.
The participants of the visit to the World Horticulture Center specializing in modern greenhouse horticulture got acquainted with the innovations applied in this field and the innovative lighting technology applied in the greenhouse system. A presentation was held for the Azerbaijani delegation on the provision of electricity to greenhouses by the "Signify" company. The delegation of Azerbaijan also visited the consulting office specialized in the field of horticulture (Looije Agro Technics) and exchanged ideas on the modernization of the existing greenhouse complexes in Azerbaijan. Dutch experts have declared that they are ready to help their partners in Azerbaijan regarding the construction and management of modern greenhouses.
The delegation of Azerbaijan also visited the flower and seed farms during the visit and got acquainted with the modern cultivation technologies applied there.
