The delegation led by the Minister of Agriculture of Azerbaijan Majnun Mammadov, who is on a visit to Hungary, got acquainted with the activities of agricultural educational institutions, agricultural companies and leading farms of this country.
The Azerbaijani delegation first visited the equestrian center of the "Tetra" company in the city of Babolna, located in the northwest of Hungary. The participants of the visit were informed about the work done in the direction of the development of horse breeding, conditions created in the center, breeding, keeping, use of horses, improvement of breeding qualities of horse breeds. It was reported that Arabian horses are used to improve the breeding qualities of Hungarian horse breeds. During the meeting, views were exchanged on the preservation of national horse breeds and breeding cores of horse breeds included in the international gene pool, as well as breeding and improvement of breed horses with high qualities and valuable hereditary traits.
Later, the participants of the trip visited the "Tetra Ltd" plant, one of the largest breeding poultry enterprises in Europe, where they were interested in the current situation in the poultry industry in Hungary, and the directions of poultry development in the country. The management of the enterprise informed the participants of the visit in detail about the innovations applied in the process of breeding, as well as commercial poultry meat and egg production, genetic research, preparation of feed rations, the general working principle of the technological process of breeding-selection work. It was stated that breeding-selection works in the poultry sector, as in other areas of animal husbandry, ensure breeding of breeding birds on scientific basis, being a unified system of zootechnical measures. It was noted that the enterprise is managed on a scientific basis to produce genetic material, to provide breeding poultry enterprises with highly productive breeding eggs and day-old chicks. The Azerbaijani delegation discussed the directions of development of poultry farming in the country and the possibilities of cooperation in this field with local experts.
The participants of the visit also got acquainted with the material and technical base of the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Natural Sciences (MATE), which is the oldest agricultural higher education institution in Europe, and were interested in the process of organizing education at the higher education institution. Within the framework of the visit, a meeting was held with the vice-rector of MATE Katalin Posta. The university management gave detailed information to the guests about the teaching methodology, scientific research works, and announced the university's strategic plans for 2030. During the meeting, the possibilities of cooperation between Azerbaijan State Agrarian University (ADAU) and MATE were discussed, student-teacher exchange, it was emphasized that it is important to expand joint cooperation in this field. The delegation of Azerbaijan expressed their interest in the development of cooperation with their Hungarian colleagues in the direction of establishing beneficial bilateral cooperation, conducting joint scientific research, and exchanging experience.
