Prospective directions of cooperation between the two countries in the agricultural field have been determined 

Majnun Mammadov, the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, is on an official visit to Türkiye. Within the framework of the visit, the 11th meeting of the Türkiye-Azerbaijan Agriculture Executive Committee was held in Ankara. At the meeting, the parties discussed the current situation and expansion of cooperation in the field of agriculture between the two countries.

Minister Majnun Mammadov said that the Republic of Türkiye is a reliable partner of Azerbaijan in the field of agriculture as well as in all fields. It was reported that effective cooperation between the two countries in agricultural research, education, cotton growing, seed breeding, veterinary medicine, agricultural insurance and other fields continues successfully. At the meeting, it was emphasized that there is a great potential for the expansion of mutual relations in the field of agriculture between the two countries, the need to increase the trade turnover of agricultural and food products, especially the need to expand the export of products produced by Azerbaijan to the markets of Türkiye and Europe was brought to the attention.

Later, a wide-ranging meeting was held with the participation of the agriculture ministers of the two brotherly countries. At the meeting, the Declaration of Intent on cooperation in the field of agricultural research and development and the protocol of the 11th meeting of the Türkiye-Azerbaijan Agriculture Executive Committee were signed between the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Türkiye. Prospective directions for cooperation in the agricultural field between the two countries were defined in the documents. The parties agreed to expand cooperation between the two countries in agricultural education, specialist training, agricultural research and development, land consolidation, veterinary medicine, supply of vaccines against animal diseases and other fields.

Speaking about the importance of bilateral cooperation, the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Majnun Mammadov, is sure that the signed documents will serve the cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye in the field of agriculture, including the exchange of information in the field of scientific research, the conduct of joint scientific research, the application of modern research methods, and the development of the agricultural sector in general. said.

The Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of Türkiye Ibrahim Yumaklı, in turn, spoke about the importance of implementing all the items of the Action Plan defined between the two ministries. "Dialogue with Azerbaijan continues actively. We attach great importance to cooperation that serves to expand relations in the field of agriculture," the Turkish minister added.

It should be noted that within the framework of the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation will get acquainted with the activity of the Eastern Mediterranean Agricultural Research Institute, modern irrigation systems controlled by artificial intelligence in the Adana region.
