The next meeting with women farmers was held in Sumagalli village of Ismayilli region within the scope of the AFAQ project implemented by "Agro Procurement and Supply" OJSC under the Ministry of Agriculture and supported by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and PASHA Holding.
The Deputy Head of the Executive Power of Ismayilli region, representatives of “Agro Procurement and Supply” OJSC and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, Director of the Ismayilli State Agro Development Center, women farmers operating in Sumagalli village and successfully completed the trainings within the scope of Afaq project attended at the meeting held on August 26.
During the meeting, the farms of women farmers were inspected, and the owners were provided with appropriate equipments (incubator, medagon, milking machine, separator, feed mill, etc.) in accordance with their needs.
It should be noted that at the initial stage, nearly 500 women farmers applied for the project, 72 farms of them were inspected and evaluated. Nearly 300 women farmers have benefited from the trainings and consulting support provided by local and foreign experts so far. The technical, consulting and training support provided to farm owners meeting the project's criteria will be going on at a future time too.
It should be noted that the AFAQ project is implemented in order to support women working in the agricultural sector, increase their knowledge and skills, facilitate access to financial and other resources. Previously, three women farmers from Malikchobanli village of Shamakhi region also benefited from the project. They were given small horned and cattle farm animals.
