The delegation led by the Chairman of the Board of “Agro Procurement and Supply” OJSC under the Ministry of Agriculture, Leyla Mammadova is on a business visit to the State of Qatar. Within the scope of the export mission, the delegation met Sheikh Falih bin Nasser Al Thani, Assistant Undersecretary for Agriculture and Fisheries Affairs of the State of Qatar and the CEO of Al Meera Group, Yousef Ali Al Obaidan with the support of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Qatar. The Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the State of Qatar, Rashad Ismayilov also attended the meeting.
During the meetings, the issues regarding the work done in the field of agriculture as a result of mutual cooperation between the two countries, the agro relations between Azerbaijan and Qatar, as well as the perspectives for exporting local products to this country were discussed, and the representatives of the State of Qatar were provided with detailed information about the export potential of Azerbaijan.
Today, within the business visit, the meetings will be held with Vice President of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce, Mohammed bin Ahmed Tawar Al-Kuwari and the executives of the business entities operating in this country.
Commenting on the business visit, the Chairman of the Board of “Agro Procurement and Supply” OJSC, Leyla Mammadova emphasized that during the meetings, not only the export process but also the transparency of the investment environment in Azerbaijan were brought to the attention of the representatives of the State of Qatar:
Within the scope of our meetings, we also gave detailed information to the representatives of the public and private sectors of the State of Qatar, about the agricultural products with export potential as well as the transparent investment environment in our country, and stressed our proposals regarding possible cooperation in the field of agriculture. I would like to note that the chain stores of “Al Meera Group” company that we held a meeting operate in Oman, along with Qatar. Holding is interested in selling Azerbaijani products in its stores. The sides also discussed this issue during the meeting. I strongly believe that in the near future, Azerbaijani agricultural and food products will be sold in the chain of markets operating in Qatar and Oman.
It should be noted that one of the principles of “Agro Procurement and Supply” OJSC under the Ministry of Agriculture is to encourage local farmers and food producers to export, as well as to promote local agricultural and food products abroad and explore their export opportunities.
